सबसे पहले हम जानते हैं कि comprehension of unseen passage का अर्थ क्या होता है जहां comprehension का अर्थ समझना होता है और unseen passage का अर्थ होता है जो पहले पढ़ा नहीं गया हो। अर्थात comprehension से तात्पर्य है power to understand (समझने की शक्ति) से है।

इसलिए दिए गए passage को भलीभांति पढ़ने के पश्चात दिए जाने वाले प्रश्नों का उत्तर देना होता है।
सबसे पहले हम एक उदाहरण से समझते हैं तो सर्वप्रथम आप नीचे दिए गए उदाहरण को पढ़ें-

Shri Ram Ayodhya ke Raja Dashrath Ke Bete the. Shri Ram ki patni ka naam Sita tha. Shri Ram Ko 14 warsh ka vanvaas hua tha.

Q. Ram Ke Pita ji ka naam kya tha?
Ans.- Raja Dashrath

आपको पता है इस प्रश्न का उत्तर Raja Dashrath होगा क्योंकि आपको ऊपर दिया गया passage hindi भाषा दिया गया तो आप को समझ में आ गया है इसी कारण आपको इस प्रश्न का उत्तर पता हैं।

इसी प्रकार यदि आपको यदि English language में unseen passage दिया जाए तो आपके सामने एक एक दिक्कत आ जाती है तो वह दिक्कत क्यों आती है चलो जानते हैं-
↪️क्योंकि इसका मुख्य कारण है आपको अच्छी तरह से इंग्लिश नहीं आती है क्योंकि आप किसी या हम किसी कान्वेंट स्कूल के विद्यार्थी नहीं है।
↪️या आपने इससे पहले इंग्लिश अच्छी तरीके से नहीं पढ़ी हो।
लेकिन इसका यह मतलब नहीं है कि आप एग्जाम में इस प्रश्न को नहीं करें या आपको इस प्रश्नों का उत्तर नहीं आता हो। क्योंकि यह गलती हम नहीं करेंगे और बिल्कुल नहीं करेंगे। तो हम जानते हैं कि किस तरह से हम comprehension of unseen passage के प्रश्नों के उत्तर दे सकते हैं।

4. Idioms/phrase meaning of this passage.
Ex.- Add fuel to fire( आग में घी डालना)
तो comprehension of unseen passage में मुख्य रूप से इन्हीं चार types of questions पूछे जाते हैं तो आप समझ गए होंगे कि इन प्रश्नों को कैसे कर सकते हैं।

How to solve comprehension of unseen passage:-

Step by step-

1. Read all questions on unseen passage.
2. Not translate in hindi only read and explain(समझना) in English.( क्योंकि आपके सामने कुछ ऐसे words आएंगे जो आप को नहीं समझ में आएंगे तो उनमें आपको फसना नहीं है और उन words को आपको इंग्लिश मे ही पढ़ना है।)
Ex.- Ram knows otology.
Q. Who knows otology?
Ans. Ram
लेकिन आपको पता नहीं है कि otology का अर्थ क्या है तो आपको otology का अर्थ जाने में समय नहीं गंवाना है। Otology- कर्ण विज्ञान
3. Find your first question in passage.
4. Title and same word,opposite word वाले questions सबसे last में करने होते हैं।

1. Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given below:

Mrs. Sharma loved flowers and had a small but beautiful garden. In the summer, her roses were always the best in her street. One summer afternoon, her bell rang and when she went to the front door, she saw a small boy outside. He was about seven years old and was holding a big bunch of flowers in his hand.
"I am selling roses", he said. "Do you want any?" They are quite cheap. One rupee for a big bunch. They are fresh. I picked them this afternoon. 'My boy', Mrs. Sharma answered. "I pick roses whenever I want and do not pay anything for them, because I have lots in my garden.
